December, the final month of the year and the final page in my 2021 calendar, done.
The month saw more of all the things that have marked 2021--threats to U.S. democracy, extreme weather, political hijinks, world tensions, and always, covid:
So I chose to balance all that ick with some brighter, hopeful artwork, featuring many hours’ worth of contemplative kantha stitching to bind the separate pieces into a single fabric:
