India Tresselt is a fiber artist from the Champlain Valley in northwestern Vermont. Knitting, temari, and embroidery are her passions, and she has recently been exploring the potential of needlefelting with yarn to create two-dimensional artwork. The foundation of her work is a love of color, in all its brilliance and subtlety, as it moves through her fingers in yarn and thread, building the work stitch upon stitch.

A serious knitter for many years, she has worked in a yarn shop, taught knitting and temari making, and designed patterns for handknits. As a member of Vermont Hand Crafters, Inc., the oldest and largest juried craft organization in the state, she was member of the Board of Directors for several years and served as President of the Board from 2020 throuth 2024.

Her political and resistance artwork has been featured frequently in The Nation Magazine’s OppArt blog, and she is one of the featured artists in Not Normal: Art in the Time of Trump, a catalog compiled by curator Karen Guttfreund.
