So, my post last week about my personal roller coaster really strikes me now, just a few days later, as a massive and rather pathetic pity party for me. Yes, 2020 has had its ups and downs for me personally, but in view of the exploding worldwide crisis that is COVID-19, my personal issues are pretty minor. At this point, I am well, my husband is well, my children are well. Our regular daily lives have gone completely crazy pants and we, just like the rest of you, are doing our best to cope with a landscape none of us ever imagined, with the knowledge that everything everywhere is likely to get crazier and scarier and just plain worse before it gets better.

Despite everything, I will try to use this time to be creative, to make things, to join myself to the wider world through art and making. And I want to share that with all of you in a slightly different way than usual: as often as I can, every day if I can manage it, I will post two photos. One will be a kaleidoscope, or my current work in progress, or a piece I made in the past that I want to share again. The other will be an original black-and-white kaleidoscope design that you may share, download, print, and color. Through art and making, I hope we may deal with our stress, feel our shared humanity, and help ourselves and each other to cope with this crisis.
