I haven't made one of these small pieces in a while, though not for lack of subject matter: every day brings a fresh outrage, and yesterday's news quickly becomes, quite simply, yesterday's news. It's impossible to keep up! Nevertheless, the recent controversy regarding separation of families at the border compelled me to stitch this piece. Though I am relieved that the policy has been rescinded, nevertheless the executive order signed on Wednesday is only a bandaid, and does nothing to help the thousands of children and families already separated, or to fix the problem overall. This. Is. Not. Normal.
