It’s not been a very productive time for me. In a year in which so many people have suffered so much more and so much worse than have I, it has still been a difficult 12 or 13 months filled with fear, loss, grief, and frustration. One of the hard things for me has been the disappearance of my creative muse. Especially in these times, when my soul has begged for an outlet for all the emotions that have swirled around and inside me, my hands have been largely stilled, my needle quiet.

But slowly, tentatively, I’m beginning to make things again. In addition to my calendar project (see previous blog posts), recently I’ve made a few temari, and finished a couple of new knits as I get ready for the upcoming Vermont Hand Crafters online Spring Craft Vermont show on May 1. I have more yarn on my needles right now, and new temari taking shape in my mind. I have even begun envisioning new artwork…

Will I manage to bring these things to fruition? Only time will tell.
