This week, I made my own kaleidoscope.
It actually began as a photo of my bathroom floor, which I ran through my kaleidoscope app:
I printed it on silk, and it came out a very pale, fuzzy blue with little definition; the silk simply couldn't pick up the subtlety of the original. Rather than try to duplicate the kaleidoscoped photo, I decided to let it be a jumping-off point for a very different mandala.
