Ever since I was a child, I've always thought of that limbo week between Christmas and New Years as The Dark Days, set apart as they are from the normal humdrum of the rest of the year.
Of course they're anything but dark, except as far as the sun is concerned, as these days are filled with family, friends, food, and festivities.
And for me, a little bit of knitting. I'm not in my usual routine, so I've got a few pick-up-for-a-few-minutes-here-and-there projects: a short-sleeved sweater that I've been working on for faaaarrr too long, poor thing it keeps being set aside for more pressing projects; a lovely soft laceweight mohair linen stitch infinity scarf; and, of course, socks.
The yarn is Madelinetosh Twist Light, colorway Shire; the pattern is Yankee Knitter Classic Socks.
